PANAMA CITY, FL- Peter Christopher Fontaine, 47, of Panama City, FL, passed away at home on October 31, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Cambridge, NY, Peter was the beloved son of Evelyn Plourde. He was raised in New Hampshire and was a graduate of Schuyler Academy in New York. He had been a resident of Florida for the past 27 years.
Peter had been employed by Inland Construction and Engineering Co. as a roofer but his true joy was found in fishing and the ocean. He worked as a commercial fisherman for 25 years for Captain Arthur Fortner on The Vitamin C. He also enjoyed boating and diving.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings: Marc C. Fontaine of Vermont, Jeanne C. Fontaine of New Hampshire and Suzanne F. Fontaine of Vermont. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 2nd at 10 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. A Calling Hour will precede the Mass from 9 to 10 A.M. in Church. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Allenstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter’s memory may be sent to either the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street #104, Manchester, NH 03101 or to the American Lung Association, National Direct Response Headquarters, 1200 Hosford Street Suite 101, Hudson, WI 54016.
