Edward P. Juranty

September 19, 1938 ~ August 28, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Edward Peter Juranty

1938-2017

On August 28th, we lost a great man after a period of declining health. He lived a joyous life surrounded by and centered around family.  He is loved by his wife Nancy (Ambrose) married 57 years ago.  He is also loved by his sister Ann Rehlander.  He is admired by all six of his children Linda, Michael, William, Thomas, Laurie, Amy and their spouses.  He is a loved grandpa to Karen, Julia, James, Zofia, Isabel, Tyler, Allison, Brian, Sydney, Connor, Emily, Abby, Avery and Oscar as well as two great-grandchildren Lauren and Malcolm.  He was predeceased by his brother Peter.

Ed was charming, even the nurses from his final weeks in the hospital would tell you that. He was quick to laugh and set you at ease the minute you met him.  He was a special man who showed his sons and sons-in-law how to be a good father by example.  He is very much loved by all who knew him and he will forever be missed.

Ed was an Air Force veteran serving over seas in the cold war era.  He was an electrician by trade and had a career in the telephone company.  He was a jack of all trades and could build or fix anything.  He and his father built the family home adding additions when needed.  He discovered the “secret” fort his grandchildren built in the woods and put on a roof while they were in school.  He built a pirate ship for the children to enjoy.  He shared the love of the outdoors with his family who fondly remember summer camping trips and York beach vacations.  He had numerous hobbies and was a voracious reader especially of history.  His HAM radio handle K1RVP will be retired.  He loved anything technical, being a camera operator of the Uncle Gus Show, computers or technical sets for the Community Players.  He will be missed.
