Theresa Phelps Obituary

CHICHESTER – Theresa M. Phelps, 76, of Chichester passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. She was born in Boston, MA on March 15, 1947 the daughter of Cecelia (Foster) Berry and Thomas Moynihan; but the man she called Dad was Eugene Berry.

Besides her parents Terri was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas Moynihan, Jr. and Dennis Moynihan and her dear sister, Maureen Hurley.

When she was a child, her parents owned a summer camp in Danbury, NH where she met Dana Phelps. He pursued her relentlessly and she loved to tell the story of how he chased her til she caught him... and she married him in 1967.

She may have grown up a city slicker from Roxbury, MA where she took the subway to work every day. But after marrying her best friend, she became a farm girl feeding cows on a big old farm in Chichester, where they lived together for 56 years.  Terri was content to be wherever Dana was during all that time. Together they raised a daughter, Darlene, who gave them the bigger family that they always wanted.

She worked for Prevue Products in Manchester for several years, and upon their closing worked with Dana at Phelps Aerial Lift for a while before taking a job as a pharmacy assistant at Care Pharmacy in Epsom. She jokingly called herself the local drug pusher! She made so many friends over the years and is remembered by many as the sweet little old lady at the Pharmacy!

She leaves behind her loving husband, Dana, who took such great care of her these past few years; her daughter, Darlene Phelps Foss and her husband, Whitey; her beloved grandchildren, Allison Phelps McIntosh and her partner, Jason Weir, Abigail McIntosh, Kylie Lizotte and her husband, Brian and KC Foss. Her great-grandchildren were the absolute light of her life, and she’d be happy to show you pictures at any opportunity.  Mason, Elizabeth, Grantham, Scarlet, Grayson and Violet were blessed to have known a great-grandmother’s love. She also leaves her brothers, James Moynihan and Eugene Berry, Jr., several nieces, nephews and cousins and more friends than we can count. The sense of loss is palpable.

We invite you to visit with her family and friends on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 4pm-6pm at Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Hwy, Epsom. A brief prayer service will follow at 6pm.
