Philip Good Obituary

Philip C. Good

Phil passed away on September 22, 2018 at the age of 84, surrounded by his family. Born in Natick, MA, he was the son of J. Herbert and Marie (Adams) Good.  At the age of 2, the family moved to Pembroke, NH where he attended Pembroke schools and then served in the US Navy for four years.  He served in the Mediterranean on the repair ship USS Cadmus and the supply ship USS Mercury.  He worked for Aranco Oil Company as an auditor of their gas stations for 35 years, and retired in 1995.

He leaves his loving wife of 56 years, Lorraine (Cote) Good; two sons, Jeffrey and his wife Suzanne (Cote) of Canterbury, and John and his wife Carianne (Moody) of Acworth, GA; along with two grandchildren, Cameron and Madison of Acworth.  Also surviving are his sister Marilyn Ross and her husband, Edwards; a sister-in-law Gweneth Cote of Falls Church, VA; three brothers-in-law, Maurice Cote and his wife Catherine of Gilford, Raymond Cote and his wife Susan of Shrewsbury, MA, and William Cote and his wife Lucille of Florida. Also left behind are many nieces and nephews including Douglas Ross and his wife Sheila of Concord, and James Ross and his wife Laura of Loudon, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition, he had a very loving and supportive extended family. He was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Victor and Ronald Cote, a sister-in-law Anna Cote, a niece Lorna Blouin and nephews Christopher and Scott Cote.

Phil spent several years coaching Suncook Little League Baseball, and he served on the Pembroke Recreation Committee. He was an avid golfer for 40 years, and was a board member at Plausawa Valley Country Club. Having played baseball and basketball for four years while at Pembroke Academy, he enjoyed most of the PA boys and girls sports, and could be seen there in the fall, winter and spring.  He spent time at his camp in New Brunswick where  he really enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fly fishing, with his father, Pembroke friends & family, and with the dear friends that he knew in that area. He had a life-long love of Boston Sports teams.

He was a twenty-year survivor of a heart transplant, since November 3rd, 1998, and was an active ambassador for Donate Life.

The family wishes to thank the caring staffs of the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association for their hospice guidance, and Pleasant View Center.
