NICEVILLE, FL – Lucien L. Richard, 93 of Niceville, FL, formerly of Washington DC and Suncook, NH passed away on May 14, 2019 in Florida.
Born on April 25, 1926 in Suncook, he was the son of the late Jeremie and Olivine (Blais) Richard.
Lucien was educated in the local schools and upon graduating High School, he enlisted and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Lucien later attended New England College where he graduated with a degree in business.
He worked for over 20 years as a controller in a law firm in Washington, DC and after his retirement, he moved to Niceville, FL where he enjoyed his time taking walks, going up to 5 miles a day and reading.
His family would like to acknowledge his caregivers over the last few years, Sharon Hawkins and Theresa Campbell. Their deepest gratitude for all you both did for him; a kindness that could never be repaid.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Grace Cyr and Marcel Richard, his nephew, Jeremy Richard and his longtime friend, Tom Mead.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Betty Peterson and her husband Wayne of Hooksett, Paul Cyr and his wife Lori of Hooksett, Donna Place and her husband Jerre of Lebanon, ME, Mark Richard of Cape Neddick, ME, Kevin Richard and his wife Jeanne-Rae of Rochester and Lynn Chavez of Rochester. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews and cousins and longtime attorney and friend Sam Peek.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 11 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Petit-Roan Funeral Home in Pembroke.
