CONCORD – Laurence E. Cashman, Jr., of Concord, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 with his wife and son by his side at home following a lengthy battle with Parkinsons.
Laurence was born on December 13, 1936 in Manchester, son of the late Laurence and Alice (Mitchell) Cashman.
He attended the local schools and was a graduate of Bishop Bradley High School. He went on to serve in the Navy on the USS Macon. Besides his time in the military, he spent his entire life in New Hampshire, living for a time in Bedford, then Contoocook and later Concord. His true passion was cars, specifically Volkswagens, and enjoyed the time he had doing repairs at his shop from 1969-1997. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
Besides his parents, Laurence was predeceased by two daughters, Lora Cashman and Amy Cashman as well as two grandchildren, Cynthia Schraeder and Nathan Cashman.
He is survived by his wife Eileen (White) Cashman of Concord, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage, son Todd Cashman of Concord and daughter, Eileen McKenna and her husband Brian of Wilmington, MA, a sister, Eleanor Johnson, Grandchildren, Alex Putney and his wife Hannah, Frank Lentine, Lauren Radcliffe and her husband Zachary and Katherine McKenna and Brittany Hunt, two great granddaughters and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
