CHICHESTER- Kathy E. Nolin, 75, of Chichester, passed away surrounded by her children at the Concord Hospital on October 1, 2022 after a period of declining health.
Born in Concord, Kathy was the daughter of the late Eugene and Marilyn (Avery) Foster. She was raised and educated in Pembroke and was a graduate of Pembroke Academy Class of 1965. She had been a resident of Chichester for the past 39 years.
Before remaining home to raise her children, Kathy was employed by the State of New Hampshire. She worked in Legislative Services and also during that time was instrumental in helping White Mountain Cable Construction in its early years with accounting and bookkeeping. She later worked as secretary to the President of the Senate at the State House. She then took on her favorite job of all and one she excelled at, being a mother to her children.
Kathy had a great passion for animals of all kinds and took great pleasure in taking them in whenever possible and being sure they all were fed and cared for. Her nurturing ways led many dogs, cats, squirrels, chipmunks, song birds, turkeys and even crows (who she lovingly called her Billy’s) to find their way to her home for a meal or some love. While this was her passion, her family and children were her life. She was a supportive mother and passionate hockey mom who often could be heard yelling “Ice It!” at her childrens’ teams when the puck was in their end. Many will cherish their fond memories of her.
Kathy was a great artist and could do wonderful sketches and paintings but was always very modest about her skills. With her creativity, she also enjoyed interior design and searching for the perfect antique to add to her home. During the warm summer months, she loved sea glassing and picking wild flowers on the rocky coast of Maine. Many of the flowers she would pick found their way into one of her many flower pressing books.
Kathy was a person who was loved by so many and her loving and caring personality left an impact on everyone who knew her. Anyone who came into her house immediately felt welcome and usually did not leave hungry! She will be lovingly missed by all of those she touched with her warmth and generosity.
She leaves her two children: Gena Nolin and her husband Brian O’Connor of Hampstead, NH and Dustin Nolin and his wife Lisa Molvar of Boston, MA. She is also survived by her two beloved granddaughters: Mikaylah Avery O’Connor and Mia Nolin as well as her two brothers: Burt Foster and his wife Germaine of Canterbury and Pete Foster and his wife Kim of Pembroke.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7th from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathy’s memory may be sent to the Pope Memorial SPCA, 94 Silk Farm Rd. Concord, NH 03301 and can also be made at https://www.popememorialspca.org/.
