Obituary
PENACOOK- Mr. John W. Riley, 84, of Penacook, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 7, 2023.
Born in Exeter, John was the son of the late Earle S. and Rita (Cullen) Riley. He was raised and educated in Farmington. At a young age, John enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1958 to 1964.
Prior to his retirement, John was employed as a Linesman for New England Telephone for over 30 years.
A quiet man, John enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially growing his vegetable gardens.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Earl Riley, Monica “Sis” Riley and Raymond Riley and his daughter-in-law, Stephanie Riley.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Judith A. (Mills) Riley; his two sons: Shawn Riley and his fiancé Lorrie Woodward and Tim Riley and his wife Pattie of Petaluma, CA; two grandchildren: Shane and Samantha Riley; and his siblings: Joan Underhill, Joyce Tibbetts, Kevin Riley, Robert Riley and Francis Riley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, April 20th at 1 P.M. in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
