Holly MacCleery Obituary

CHICHESTER – Holly A. MacCleery, 66, of Chichester, passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at her home. Holly was born on February 9, 1958 in Manchester.

Holly was raised in Chichester and graduated from Pembroke Academy. She had many jobs, including her work on the family farm with her husband, Stephen, raising their own beef and sheep. She excelled at baleing hay and even after she was disabled she continued to help. Holly worked for the state and the town and was well known as the lunch lady at Chichester Central School. She had previously been a Sunday school teacher and played piano for the United Methodist Church in Chichester and the Minstrel shows in Epsom and Chichester. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, canning vegetables from the garden, baby sitting her grandchildren, tractor pulls, going to the Deerfield fair and organizing church suppers. She loved planning trips and going to Disney World and visiting Pennsylvania with her husband. She was a 4H leader, rainbow girl and part of the Southern Gospel Quartet. Holly was Chichester citizen of the year in 2018.

In addition to her beloved husband, Stephen, of 47 years, Holly is survived by her children: Stephen MacCleery Jr., Morgan Mewkill and her husband Charles IV; her siblings: Daniel Randall and his wife Joanne, Ronald Randall and Sandra Graves; her grandchildren: Charles V and Faith Mewkill; her brother-in-law: Russell MacCleery; her mother-in-law: Lee MacCleery; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents: Ernest and Lucille Randall; and her father-in-law: Russell MacCleery Sr.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom from 3pm – 5pm. A brief service will follow. There is no burial.
