HOOKSETT- Mrs. Helen M. (Lafreniere) Bonenfant, 89, of Hooksett formerly of Manchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on January 11, 2023.
Born in Brighton, MA, in 1933, Helen was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Helen E. (Gilette) Lafreniere. She was raised and educated in Boston and after moving to New Hampshire, was a graduate of Pembroke Academy.
Prior to her retirement, Helen was the longtime owner and operator of The Town Kiln, a ceramic store that started by offering 2 classes per week that became a wholesale retail establishment. Faith was a cornerstone of her life and she demonstrated this through her active worship at St. John the Baptist Parish in Allenstown. She started the Intercessory Prayer Group at St. John the Baptist in 2001 that still continues today with over 30 members. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and baking but above all else, family meant the most to her.
Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Gaston J. “Gus” Bonenfant, grandsons Eric Ventura and Owen Thayer, three brothers: Albert, Robert and Richard Lafreniere.
She is survived by her six children: Lisa and Steven Thayer of Londonderry, Lynne and Sam Ventura of Hooksett, Mark and Barbara Bonenfant of Mission Viejo, CA, Brian and Debbie Bonenfant of Richmond, VA, Keith and Melanie Bonenfant of Fallbrook, CA and Karen and Jay Jennato of Hooksett; 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20th from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M.
