Gary Morin Obituary

EPSOM – Gary F. Morin, 83, of Epsom, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Granite VNA Hospice House, Concord. Gary was born on October 1, 1940 in Chelsea, MA and was the son of the late Thomas Edward and Anna (Besaw) Morin.

Gary is survived by his devoted and beloved life partner: Donna Cadose; his son: Gary E. Morin and his wife Holly Viall; his three daughters: Lynn Morin and her husband David Lorrey, Joyce Morin and her partner Carl Jones, Jeanne Couture and her husband Darryl; his sister: Diane Chagnon and her husband John; his brother: Daniel Morin and his partner Beth Currie; his six grandchildren: Ally, Madelon, Matthew, Katelyn, Abby, Nathan; and several nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his two brothers: Thomas and James Morin.

Gary graduated from Don Bosco Technical High School in Boston MA in 1959 and pursued a career as a service representative for office machines with Spaulding Co. in Stoughton MA. He won many awards during his 30+ years there.

He very much loved and was very proud of his children and grandchildren and that was reciprocated. Through graduations, weddings, births and more, Gary watched and participated with great fondness and happiness. Their times together were fun-filled and cherished. Great memories to behold for all.

He was passionate about his camp in Dix’s Grant, NH which he owned and enjoyed for 60+ years. He loved all things nature (except squirrels at his bird feeders). The chipmunks would climb on his lap looking for their sunflower seeds. They frequently ate out of his hand and called him by name. He greatly loved his cats, Menyou and Callie, and missed them terribly when they went to Kitty heaven. Gary took great pleasure and satisfaction in planting seeds and watching them grow into (hopefully) healthy plants.

In his prime, Gary enjoyed hunting and the camaraderie at his camp. He always said that his best friends were his fellow camp owners in the Diamond…of which there were many. He was an avid reader devouring two to three books a week. Gary was a joker at heart and had the best (or worst) jokes ever. He loved to make people laugh.

Gary and Donna met forty years ago in an after-work gathering place otherwise known as a bar. They had much in common and would frequently complete each other’s sentences and thoughts. Together they took many trips both to the tropics as well as here in the USA. They enjoyed their quiet time sitting together on the front porch of either their home or camp reading or talking and enjoying the proverbial four o’clock cocktail. Aside from the quiet time, for many years they enjoyed hosting their annual spaghetti feed at camp for the family on Labor Day weekend! Bon Appetit!

Though Gary was plagued with health issues, he strived to survive. He was a trooper through it all. His perseverance was amazing and admirable. He was a good, loving and kind man and will be greatly missed.
