Ernest Osborne Crocker age 86 of Richmond, VT and Maynard, MA passed away peacefully on April 14, 2022 at the McClure Miller Respite House.
Born February 21, 1936 to Carson and Florence Crocker in Montevideo, Uruguay, he was the youngest of three boys. The family moved to a remote ranch near Pasteur, Argentina when he was three.
Ernie immigrated to New York with his family at the age of 15. He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University where he also played on the varsity tennis team. From 1971 to 1974, he taught Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Catolica in Valparaiso, Chile as a Peace Corps volunteer.
Ernie worked for most of his career as an Electrical Engineer in the Boston area. An avid athlete, traveler, and loving father and grandfather, Ernie enjoyed tennis, scuba diving, and hiking in the White Mountains and family trips to US national parks. He was the loving husband to Betty Ann for 38 years.
He will be remembered for his dry, witty sense of humor, kind nature, and love for his family and friends. In addition to Betty, Ernie is survived by his daughter Alison and her husband, Mike; his son William and his wife, Deidre; his two grandchildren, Mia and Cole; his first wife Virginia, their daughters Valerie and her husband, Chris; Jennifer and her husband, Ralph; and his brother John and his wife Cathy.
A Memorial service will be held on June 4th from 11-12pm at The Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street in Pembroke, NH. His service can be viewed remotely by viewing his tribucast at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/2343715411
