EPSOM- Mrs. Arleen V. (Yakavonis) Carey, 78, of Epsom, passed away at the Concord Hospital on November 30, 2022 after a period of declining health.
Born in Brockton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia (Reed) Yakavonis. She was raised and educated in Brockton and Hanson, MA before moving to New Hampshire.
For many years, she operated her own house cleaning business.
Arleen greatly enjoyed crafts of all kinds. She especially loved flowers and working in her garden.
She was predeceased by her son, Paul F. Carey, Jr. and her brothers, Dennis Kurinskas and Kevin Kurinskas.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Paul F. Carey, Sr. and her children: John Carey of Epsom, Vicky Glover of Monroe, LA and Virginia Ladd of Gilmanton. She was the sister to Virginia Leondike, Priscilla Kurinskas, Brenda Kurinskas, Ronny Kurinskas and Cindy Kurinskas. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8th from 2 to 4 P.M. in the Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. A brief service will conclude the visitation at 4 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arleen’s memory may be sent to your local food bank.
