Yvette Theresa Lascelle, 81, passed peacefully on December 16, 2024, after spending weeks surrounded by her loved ones. Born 10/24/43 in Suncook, NH to Arthur and Simone Girard, Yvette was an incredible Mémére, Mother, Sister, Wife, Aunt, and Friend. A petite French-Canadian spit fire whose feistiness and faith gave us over an additional year and a half of love and laughs after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma resulting in end stage renal disease.
She leaves behind her children and their spouses, Daniel & Heather Lascelle and their son, Ryan of Boscawen and Karen and Vikki Lascelle and their children, Emily, Katharine, Connor, Meghan and Daniel of Derry.
Yvette grew up in Suncook, NH with her four siblings. She is pre-deceased by her sister, Colette Lavertu, and leaves behind her brothers and their spouses: Richard and Rita Girard of Rochester, NH, Denis and Lynn Girard of Charlottesville VA, and Ronald and Janet Girard of Candia, NH.
Yvette married her 6th grade sweetheart, Marcel Lascelle, who passed away in 2016, after their 53 years of marriage. After working for the State as a secretary, she began working at Capital Appraisal Associates in Concord as their office manager in 1982 when they first opened their doors. Capital Appraisal became family, and she continued to work a day a week even through most of her illness.
Yvette also leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews, Kelly, Peter, Kristen, Denise, Amy, Denny, Jonathan and Lauren and their spouses and children, and her incredible friends, Lynne, Bob, Margaret, JoAnn and Roger.
Most important to Yvette were her family, friends and her Catholic faith. She loved knitting, reading, playing games, shopping, going out to restaurants, day trips with friends, cruises, and vacations at Wells Beach in Maine. She also loved singing in the choir at St. John the Baptist in Suncook. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving followed closely by Christmas. She was incredibly proud of her kids and her grandkids; her nieces and nephews and she loved being a Mémére. She couldn't get enough of simply being with her family and some of her greatest moments were spent with her brothers and telling stories about the good old days!
We are so grateful to everyone who showed love and caring throughout her final journey, including the special nurses and doctors that we will hold in our hearts.
And at the end of the day, we truly hope you can all aspire to Yvette's strength and practicality in life, understanding that, "Goodness gracious, it is what it is." And whether it applies to a day, a week, or a life well lived, "This too shall pass." Yvette, we will always carry you in our hearts.
