Obituary

PITTSFIELD - Our beloved Mother, Winifred “Winnie” Storey, passed away peacefully at home, on March 10, 2026, with her caring family by her side. Winnie was just 101 years of age and was the recipient of the Boston Cane presented to her by the town of Pittsfield. Winnie grew up in Waltham, MA and was married to her late husband, Robert, in 1947. They resided and raised their seven children both in Reading, MA and later in Barnstead, NH. She is also survived by 6 of her children, 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Winnie found great joy in her community and was always ready to share her smile with those she came in contact with. She enjoyed her many years of being involved in church life, most recently at the Pittsfield Congregational Church. She also had many other pleasures in life including spending time with family and friends, jumping on a plane to England and reading an assortment of books, especially anything British! She delighted in her children and grandchildren who often took time to visit her. She will be fondly remembered for her bright smile, contagious laugh, and love and acceptance of others.

Winnie had traveled to England many, many times over the years and has left her love for Britain with her children. While she is gone from us, we know that she has travelled to “a better country” called Heaven, which the Lord had prepared for her

Winnie and her late husband, “Bob” will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery. There will be a graveside service on June 6, 2026 at 11:00am to celebrate their lives. Assisting the family with arrangements is The Roan Family Funeral Home - Still Oaks Chapel of Epsom. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com
