PITTSFIELD - William N. Chagnon, 94, of Pittsfield residing at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the NH Veterans Home. William was born in Pittsfield on November 23, 1929, the son of Nelson and Pearl (Purtell) Chagnon. He proudly served his country as a United States Navy Veteran. He worked for New Hampshire Electric Co-Op for 41 years. He loved going deer hunting and going for walks in the woods and he loved picking blueberries with his brother, Larry. William was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Hamilton) Chagnon; son, Thomas Chagnon; daughters, Susan Bauer and Christine Dubois; brothers, Donald Chagnon, Del Chagnon, Larry Chagnon and Terry Chagnon and sister, Anita Chagnon. Members of his family include his son, William J. Chagnon; brother, Richard Chagnon; his sisters, Sherry Brackett, Audrie Baxter and Kelly Plummer; step-sons, Gary "Buddy" Bedell and his wife, Linda, Clayton Bedell; step-daughters, Virginia Botsford, Adora Stock, Ellen Bedell, Deb Hussey; many grandchildren and brothers, Fred Chagnon and Allen Bedell. Calling hours will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Roan Family Funeral Home - Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom, from 3pm to 5pm.
