Obituary

STANFIELD, NC – Virginia R. Gagne, 97, of Stanfield, NC, formerly of Suncook, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 25, 2026. She was born in Concord, NH, on December 5, 1928, the daughter of the late Henry Severance and Alice M. (Rothwell) Allaire.

Virginia attended Pembroke Academy. She was active with the American Legion Auxiliary in Suncook and had served as its president at one time. She was affectionately known by two nicknames, “Ginny” to most and “Ginger” to some.

She was a stitcher at Emerson Lounge, furniture manufacturer. After moving to Massachusetts, Virginia worked for Baka Manufacturing, stitching medical binders and braces. In her retirement years, she was a member of the N. Ft. Myers Red Hat Society in Florida.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald “Jerry” Gagne, in 1995, and her brothers, Clyde Severance and Henry Severance.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Gagne, and his husband, Amando Mata, of Stanfield, NC; her daughters, Linda L. Lane and Joyce A. Gayton; and her grandchildren, Jimmie Lane, Kimberly Lane, Andrew Gayton, and Ryan Gayton.

Calling hours will take place at Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main St. PEMBROKE, on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 4PM to 5:30PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Virginia will be buried with her husband at St. John the Baptist Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
