Thomas S. Wallace
It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas S. Wallace announces that he passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 17, 2022. He was 67.
A lifelong learner and problem solver, Tom was born in Laconia, NH to the late Charles and Carrie (Cutting) Wallace. Tom was known for his intelligence, problem solving abilities and most importantly his compassion. He excelled at most everything he tried.
He served his country in the United States Army, again at sharpshooting, even receiving a National Defense Service Medal. From an early age Tom excelled academically, he was admired by his classmates and coworkers later in life for the ease by which he understood complex concepts. Tom would enjoy solving problems as it allowed him to think outside of the box and test his ability to improve the process on his way to the solution. The enjoyment Tom experienced when problem-solving extended beyond his professional life. He would find the best process for whatever novel thing he was doing, whether it be designing a new kitchen, roasting a delicious coffee, or cooking or building a shed in the backyard. Tom had a true passion for cooking, his kitchen was his domain. He made sure to fresh roast coffee every morning for himself and his beloved wife Betzy. He was also sure to pack her a delicious lunch for work and she always came home to culinary excellence for dinner.
Tom is warmly remembered by his close friends for his positive attitude, kindness and compassion, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Those who knew Tom often remember his smile and his enjoyment for the simple things in life. Tom was a man who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He would lift everyone's spirit and offer encouragement during difficult times. He was quick to remind you of your innate gifts and your responsibility to share them with others as your contribution to your community, country and world. Tom was quick to offer a helping hand, he was kind and a man of faith. His kindness and compassion enriched his tranquil home, his affection was a daily delight for his wife Betzy, their two mischievous cats, Sundar and Benny, and the many frequent backyard visitors. Nature was a sacred place for Tom, an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed the outdoors and he understood the delicate balance between creatures, both big and small, and himself.
Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife Betzy, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage, his son Jason Wallace and wife Telena Wallace, his brother Charles Wallace Jr. and wife Kimberly Knapp and son Lenny Carson, sister Sharon R. Wallace and niece Carrie J. Blanchard and husband Steve Blanchard. Tom also leaves behind loved friends like Victor Rondeau. His wisdom will continue guiding us, his kindness be an inspiration, and his exemplary compassion be our strength until we meet again.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 1PM at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. The Roan Family Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting the family with arrangements. To share a memory or offer a condolence please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com
