OCALA, FL – Theodore D. Halvorsen, 89, of Ocala, FL formerly of Epsom, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Brentwood at Fore Ranch.
He was born on December 20, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Hans and Rosanna (Drapeau) Halvorsen.
Ted was educated in the local schools, later earning a bachelor's degree from Franklin Pierce College. He went on to proudly serve his Country in the NH National Guard for over 35 years before retiring with the rank of Colonel. For many years he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He tinkered with upholstery work for many years and could be found working in his yard any chance he had. Following his retirement, he enjoyed meeting people while working at the toll booth.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Ricard) Halvorsen, son, Scott Halvorsen, a daughter, Starr Hartle and three brothers.
He is survived by his sons, Steve Halvorsen and his wife Ann and Ronald Halvorsen and his wife Debra, two sisters, Sonia Curtis and Florence Cooney and her husband Dick, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 5th from 10AM-12PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke, NH. A graveside service will be held at 2PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
