PITTSFIELD - Sylvia A. Doucette, 90, a generous and compassionate woman, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Born on September 11, 1935, in Barnstead to Clyde and Esther (Swain) Corson. Sylvia lived most of her life in Pittsfield, where she owned and operated her beauty shop. She was not just a hair stylist, but also an angel who touched the lives of those less fortunate by offering her services. Her generous nature was not confined to her shop alone; she spent ten fruitful years at Epsom Central School as a foster grandmother, nurturing and caring for every child who crossed her path. Sylvia, a loving widow, devoted her life to her children, her work, and her hobby of quilting. She was a true embodiment of selfless love and generosity. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, Donald Doucette in 2001; son, Arthur Doucette; sisters, Emily Smith and Geraldine Bowen; brother, Clyde Corson, Jr. and granddaughter, Yvonne Thrasher. Members of her family include her children, Doreen Wittenberg (Thomas), Rita Kiley (Michael), Donna Tiede (Brett), Shawn Doucette (Donna) and Priscilla Collins (Brett); grandchildren, Brian Wittenberg (Nicole), David Wittenberg ( Megan), Kevin Wittenberg (Stacey), Sarah Papastefanou (Alex), Jennifer DuBois (Steve), Kimberly Lessard (Peter), Ryan Kiley (Rose), Brett A. Tiede (Aimee), Eric Tiede (Marlo), Arthur Doucette Jr., Shana Doucette (Karla), Ashlynn Doucette, Staci Doucette and Lisa Garcia; great-grandchildren, Devin Wittenberg, Abigail Wittenberg, Noah Wittenberg, Rebecca Wittenberg, Taylor Kiley, Bryce Kiley, Katy DuBois, Benjamin Lessard, Samuel Lessard, Charlie Tiede, Tommy Tiede, Isiah Thrasher, Kayla Thrasher, Aurora Scaingi, Airelyn Edwards, Jeina Potter; great-great-grandchildren, Melody Hubbard and Isabel Pineo along with many other special people whose lives Sylvia touched. Calling hours will take place at Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Hwy, EPSOM, on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 10AM to 12PM followed by a committal service at Riverview Cemetery in Barnstead.
