CENTER BARNSTEAD - Susan L. Hipkiss, 72, of Center Barnstead, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, March 19, 2021. Born on June 23, 1948 in Manchester NH. She was the daughter of the late Levi K. and Lucille A. Ladd. Susan graduated from Pittsfield Middle High School and received her bachelor's in fine arts at the University of California. Music meant the world to Susan; it filled her heart with Joy. She went on to be employed by Pittsfield High School for over 20 years as a Music Teacher and provided private piano lessons to numerous children of all ages. She played the organ for S. Barnstead Church for many years and enjoyed being a part of the Joyful Blend whether through singing or accompaniment. She was a voracious reader, enjoying books of all types. She is survived by her husband, Vernon C. Hipkiss of Center Barnstead, with whom she shared 48 years of Marriage, her son, Seneca Hipkiss and his wife Jenapher of Exeter, three brothers and three sisters, two grandchildren, Rory and Willa as well as numerous nieces and nephews . At Susan's request there will not be any public services. A private family gathering will be held later this spring. The Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home in Epsom is assisting the family with arrangements.
