Susan Jean Connor, 56, a lifelong Pembroke resident, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Pleasant View Health Care Center in Concord. Susan was born in Concord on May 30, 1959, the daughter of Charles and Cecile (Girard) Connor. She worked for the NH Job Training Council and the Dept. of Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Bureau for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Miss Susan, as she was fondly known to most, also volunteered at several concerns, including St. John Regional School, Developmental Services, St. John the Baptist Parish, and the office of the Pembroke Town Clerk. In fact, the 2013 Pembroke Town Report recognized Susan for volunteering her time in the Town Clerk's office for over 20 years, making it "a happier place to do business." No matter where she worked, Susan's bubbly nature, infectious laugh, and love of people made her a delight to be around. She enjoyed playing cards, music and dancing, and loved to travel. With family and friends, Susan visited several European countries, Bermuda, and many of the states, including Hawaii. Locally Susan was a familiar figure often seen walking around town with her parents. She is survived by her parents, Charles and Cecile (Girard) Connor of Pembroke; many favorite cousins, aunts and uncles; and the countless friends she gathered along the way. Calling hours are Monday from 4-8 PM at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main Street in Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown, followed by burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
