HOOKSETT- Shirley E. Newman, 91, of Hooksett, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester. She was born on April 16, 1930 in Manchester, NH, daughter of the late Horace and Marion (Putnam) Jones. Shirley loved her family dearly, felt blessed that her children remained living in New Hampshire and enjoyed spending time with them. She had a knack for crafting, from knitting, tole painting and ceramics, she enjoyed them all. In her younger years, she could be found outdoors and participating in activities such as camping, cross country skiing, and taking trips in the RV were some of her favorite pastimes. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Harry S. Newman; sister Doris Goodwin and brother Richard Jones and daughters Sheila Newman and Brenda Jean Newman. She is survived by her children, David Newman of Hooksett, Barbara Newman Lambert and her husband Raymond of Derry, Marilyn Hebert and her husband Normand of Candia, Linda Nutter Krantz and her husband William of Bedford, sister-in-law, Virginia Newman of Manchester, grandchildren Matthew Newman, Samantha Jennings and her husband Joshua, Chelsey Root and her husband Matthew, Heather Ochs and her husband Joseph, Scott Hebert, Kenneth Nutter, Kyle Nutter, Jake Nutter and his fiance Nicole Allard, great grandchildren, Julianna Jennings, Karissa and Matthew Root. A private graveside service will be held at the request of the family. The Roan Family Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting with the arrangements.
