CONCORD - Shirley Marion Morash, 92, passed peacefully on December 12, 2022 with her family at her side at Havenwood Retirement Center.
She was born at home on July 19, 1930 to Marion and John Cassie in Hyde Park, MA and grew up in Dedham, MA, along with her siblings, Douglas, Alan and Beverly.
She attended Chandler Business School in Boston, MA and worked as a secretary in a drapery shop and as a school food service worker during her working years. She married Stuart Allan Morash of Needham, MA on June 22, 1952. They lived in Lebanon, NH, Maine and Massachusetts and spent their final years together at their home in Contoocook, NH.
Shirley loved to sew, cook and spend time by the ocean, especially walking the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, ME. She was very involved in her church singing in the choir, shopping for the homebound and teaching Sunday School. She loved spending time with family, had a strong zest for life and was always up for an adventure. "Carpe Diem" was her mantra. Shirley also loved to whistle and could be heard throughout the family home creating musical memories wherever she went.
Shirley is survived by her sister, Beverly Poole of Dedham, MA; her 4 children, Laura Cooper (Steven), Cathy McDonough (Rob Reals, Jr.), Scott Morash (Dawn) and Andrea Lively (Kenneth) as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The cremated remains of her beloved husband, Stuart Morash will be buried with her at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
