HOOKSETT- Mrs. Shirley A. Hebert, 88, of Hooksett, passed away unexpectedly at the Elliot Hospital on October 18, 2024.
Born in Manchester, Shirley was the daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Proulx) Hebert. She was raised and educated in Manchester and was a graduate of St. George High School.
In early years, Shirley traveled to California, where she worked as a switchboard operator. Upon returning to New Hampshire, she worked as a short order cook before matriculating to MACOM, where she was employed as a training instructor for over 47 years.
She was a longtime and faithful communicant of Holy Rosary Parish in Hooksett. She enjoyed plants but truly cherished her animals, especially dogs and Persian cats, which she bred. Affectionately known as "The Bow Lady," Shirley made bows for several local farms and florists.
Shirley was predeceased by her former husband, Armand R. Piche and her sister, Rita C. Trader.
She is survived by her sister, Pauline R. DeGelan and her husband Ron of Ocala, FL, her nephew, Eric DeGelan of Chiefland, FL as well as many extended family members and friends.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, October 29th from 4 to 6 P.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main St. in Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 11 A.M. in Holy Rosary Church in Hooksett. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
