It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shelley L. Joos-Halfpenny, age 69, on December 23, 2024 at her home in Barnstead, NH. Shelley was born on July 9, 1955 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Louis and Virginia (Staley) Joos. Shelley graduated from Lancaster High School in 1974, she went on to enlist in the United States Army and served for three years in Germany. It was in Germany, in 1975, she met the love of her life and beloved husband of 46 years Jim. In 1988 their son, Shaine Mathew was born. Shelley graduated from the Monadnock Community Hospital LNA certification program in 1979, she went on to embark on an almost 50-year career in the field of healthcare. Shelley loved her patients, and her patients loved her. Shelley was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her family and community. Shelley is survived by her beloved husband: Jim Halfpenny; her son: Shaine M. Halfpenny; her two brothers: Marc and Eric Joos; her three sisters: LuAnne "Lucy" Deeds, Krista Mccoy and her husband Brian, Joanie Dooley and her husband Kenny; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her two brothers: Kevin and Brett Joos; and her two sisters: Carol Joos and Susanne "Suzy" Salmond. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom from 10am to 12pm. A prayer service will immediately follow at 12pm. Burial will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NH Humane Society, P.O.
