Pittsfield – Samuel A. Marston, 76, of Pittsfield, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 4, 2025.
Sam, as he was known to family and friends, was born on November 25, 1948, in Concord, son of the late Harvey A. and Frances A. (Bartlett) Marston.
He married the love of his life, Lynne Fraser, on March 17, 1978, in Pittsfield. They shared 47 wonderful years together.
Sam was a 1966 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He spent his whole life working on the family farm. He became the 8th generation owner of Marston Farm in Pittsfield. Sam was incredibly proud to be a dairy farmer. He loved his cows and took great pride in making maple syrup with his beloved family. Sam was also the proud owner of H.A. Marston Inc. in Pittsfield. His grandfather started the transportation company in 1937. Sam started driving school bus at age 21 and proudly transported the students of the surrounding towns for 55 years. He was dedicated to the Pittsfield and Pembroke sports teams, driving students to their games regularly. Sam will be remembered as a pillar of the community, having touched the lives of so many.
Sam is survived by his wife, Lynne A. (Fraser) Marston; their children, Sarah Marston Duval of Pittsfield, Stephen Marston and his wife, Kayla of Pittsfield and Susan Russell and her husband, Brian of Hardwick, MA; seven grandchildren, John, Harrison, Sadie, Abigail, Anne, Easton and Sammy; two sisters, Betty Hayes and Gini Hayes and her husband, Ken all of Strafford; as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Marston.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 1PM-3PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, EPSOM, NH.
