PEMBROKE – Samuel B. King, 74, of Pembroke, formerly of Nova Scotia, Canada, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH.
Sam was born on September 9, 1951, in Nova Scotia, Canada, the son of the late Bert Sheffield and Carolyn Emma (Bishop) King.
He was raised and educated in Nova Scotia and went on to pursue his passion for music by obtaining his Bachelor of Music degree. Sam began his love for guitars at an early age. He was known to play "southpaw" throughout his life with various bands, mostly jazz. Sam loved his vast collection of guitars and shared these with other guitarists and musicians. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and soulmate of 33 years, Wendy Lee Reid King, who predeceased him in January of this year. They enjoyed traveling here in the US and abroad throughout the years, as well as adventuring out to try a new restaurant.
Sam is survived by his niece, Jill Horton; many friends and acquaintances from NB and NH; the friends and members of Men's Group, Life Group and the pastoral staff and the membership of Grace Capital Church in Pembroke, NH. Sam found peace and comfort with his adoptive Christian family.
