Obituary

PEMBROKE – Ruth E. Martin, 75, of Pembroke, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, December 5, 2025. Born on March 7, 1950; in Nashua, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Martha (Welch) Richardson. Ruth was educated in the Loudon schools. Mrs. Martin worked at the Pittsfield Shoe Factory and later in 1970 with the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, becoming the first female letter carrier in Concord, she was affectionately known there as "Ruthie". She enjoyed spending time sewing, quilting, crafting or going out fishing. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond P. Martin, grandsons, Aybel Martin and Brian Martin; two brothers, Ernest Richardson and David Richardson. She is survived by her children, Anthony B. Palisi and fiancé Jennifer Long, Raymond Martin II and his wife Laurabeth Wallace-Martin, Russell Martin and his wife Kassi Martin and Elisha M. Dupuis and her husband Matthew Dupuis, Scott Martin and his wife Kim, Tony Martin and his wife Becca; brothers, Robert, Charles and Roy Richardson, fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews cousins and extended family. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025; from 4PM-6PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 10AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Childhood Leukemia Foundation, 807 Mantoloking Road, Brick, NJ 08723.
