Obituary

ALLENSTOWN – Roger A. Menard, 88, a lifelong resident of Allenstown, NH passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at home with his loving wife by his side after a period of declining health. He was born in Manchester, NH on March 12, 1937, son of the late Armand and Yvonne (Martel) Menard. Roger was raised in Allenstown and was a 1954 graduate of Bishop Bradley High School. Following high school, Roger enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for four years. Following his military service, Roger received his associate degree from Concord Commercial College. He then started his 30-year banking career as a teller with the Suncook Bank and worked his way up to senior vice president, after the bank merged with TD Bank. On May 11, 1963, Roger married the love of his life, Jo-Ann Robinson at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. They shared over 62 wonderful years together. Upon his retirement in 1998, Roger and Jo-Ann traveled the world, taking several cruises and visiting many places abroad. He coached youth sports for many years and later was a certified NHIAA umpire. In his spare time, Roger loved to play bridge, cribbage and tennis and was a longtime member at the Racquet Club of Concord. He was a lifelong Boston sports fan, but an even bigger fan of watching his grandkids' sporting events. Roger was a man of deep faith and was a longtime communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. The most important thing in Roger's life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and "Bumpa," as his grandchildren lovingly called him, and cherished time spent with those he loved. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his brother, Ernest Menard; and sister, Rita Breton and her husband, Raymond. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jo-Ann Menard; children, Lisa Levasseur and her husband, Michael of Epsom, NH, Brian Menard and his wife, Diana of Chichester, NH, and Leslie Duford and her husband, Chad of Concord, NH; four grandchildren, Kyle and Sean Menard and Delaney and Evan Duford; sister-in-law, Celeste Menard of Raymond, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
