MANCHESTER- Rev. Roger L. Lascelle, age 77, of Manchester, was called to his rest and to the glory of the Resurrection promised by the Lord on March 20, 2025.
Born in Concord, Fr. Lascelle was the son of most loving parents, the late Roger J. and Frances T. (Connor) Lascelle. Fr. Roger is survived by his siblings who also care for each other as a loving family: Robert Lascelle of Burlington, VT, Denise Eiteljorge of Indianapolis, IN, and Diane Katz of Concord. All were members of Saint Anthony Catholic Church and school.
In his sophomore year of High School, he joined the religious community of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and is most grateful to the Brothers for forming in him a deep love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He taught at Mount Saint Charles Academy in Woonsocket and at Notre Dame Academy in Fitchburg; and after his involvement in retreat work and spiritual guidance for his students, he requested to begin his studies for Priesthood at Saint Mary Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD.
He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Flanagan of Worcester on June 18, 1977. For 10 years, he served in various parishes in the Diocese of Worcester. He was then invited to join the Archdiocese of Denver, CO, where he served in Meeker, Rangely and Craig, CO., in Fort Collins, and in Vail, Minturn and Red Cliff, CO. His final assignment was at the Cathedral in Denver.
After 35 years in Denver, Fr. Lascelle retired and made his way home back to his family roots in Manchester, where he volunteered his help in parishes up and down the State of New Hampshire.
Fr. Roger is also survived by his mother's sister and a few brothers of the Connor family in Suncook.
Fr. Lascelle will lie in state in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown, NH on Tuesday, March 25th from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. followed by a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 12 P.M.
