HOOKSETT – Roger E. Hebert, 99, a lifelong resident of Hooksett, passed away in his home, surrounded by his family on Monday, December 23, 2024.
He was born in Hooksett on December 17, 1925, son of the late Thomas and Jeannette (Baillergeon) Hebert.
Roger was educated in the local schools and went on to serve his country proudly for over 43 years in the Navy during WWII, he also served in the Air National Guard, Air Force and Army National Guard. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for over 36 years as the Postmaster for Suncook and Hooksett until his retirement. He coached girls' softball for several years, leading his team to a NH State Championship and National Championship title and was the first coach to be entered into the Softball Hall of Fame.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Edward "Eddie" Hebert in 2016, brothers, Romeo, Gerry, Leo, Leon and William Hebert and sister, Laudia LaFleur.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Frances E. (Hyland) Hebert, daughters, Gail Hebert, Doreen DiAntonio and her husband Ernie, Mary Hebert and her partner Mike Champagne and Joann Hebert, brother, Richard Hebert, grandchildren, Tanya Dubois and her partner Jonathan, Corinne Dubois and her partner Nick Forest, Joseph Steers, Adam Jache and his wife Kate and Carissa Swiderski, great grandchildren, Jacob and Audrianna Forest, Killian and Nolan Jache and Saige Camargo.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 2PM to 4PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 10AM at Holy Rosary Church, 21 Main Street, Hooksett. Following cremation, Roger will be interred at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11AM.
