SUNCOOK – Robert H. Marier Sr., 83, a lifelong resident of Suncook, passed away peacefully with his loving daughter by his side on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton after a period of declining health.
Born on April 5, 1942, in Manchester, NH, Bob was the son of the late David G. and Edith (Beadle) Marier. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Barbara J. (Severance) Marier who predeceased him in 2023.
Bob was raised and educated in Suncook and remained a lifelong resident, where he raised his family and ran his business. He proudly served overseas in the United States Army. After returning home, Bob worked as an owner operator for several trucking companies before founding Bob Marier Trucking. A business he owned and operated with dedication and pride for more than 50 years until his retirement. He will be remembered for his love of Classic Model A cars, proudly driving his own in local parades as a devoted member of the Classic Model A Club, as well as for his lifelong passion for flying—owning an airplane and even building one himself. An ornery man by nature, Bob carried a deep and steadfast love for his family that never wavered. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was predeceased by his siblings: brother, David Marier; twin brother, Ray Marier; and sister, Charlotte Giles.
He is survived by his children, Robin A. Castner and her husband, Mark of Alexandria and Robert H. Marier, Jr. of Allenstown; grandchildren, Bethany Marceau and her husband, Justin of Weare and Nicholas Apt of Manchester; great grandchildren, Hazel and Henry Marceau; and brother, Albert Marier and his wife, Shirley of Epsom; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the New Hampshire Veterans Home for the loving and compassionate care shown to Bob during his time there. Please consider a donation in his memory to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter Street, Tilton, NH 03276.
Bob will join his beloved wife, Barbara, in eternal rest at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, with a private ceremony honoring his service with full military honors.
