Robert (Bob) LaFrambois was born in Exeter, NH on Oct 6, 1951, to Mabel (Palmer) and Gordon LaFrambois. He was raised in the country, next to his grandfather's farm in Epsom, barefoot and wearing shorts. Spent many a day playing in the woods and streams and swimming as a kid. Going out into the fields to bring the cows back to the barn. Making spending money by digging worms for his grandfather's bait business.
He attended Epsom Central School and then on to CBNA to graduate in 1969. After high school, with a little help from his Aunt Laura, he landed a job at Sprague Electric Co. for the next 20 years as a production line technician. Two years of night school gave him an associate's degree in business computer management. Eventually working as an Engineering Technician, working with engineers in modifications to the operation of production machinery to run faster. Was always proud of his work.
Bob was a Vietnam Era Veteran, serving from 1970-1972. Attending Basic Training at Ft Polk, LA and going on to Ft. Bliss for Advanced training in the Chaparral Missile System. Scoring in the top 10% of his class gave him the opportunity of actually firing the missile system and shooting down a drone. Eventually acquiring the rank of Spec 4. Honorably discharged.
He always tried to be a man of his word, proud in his beliefs. And although he was referred once as 'not a people person' he tried to treat all equally and honestly.
He had many hobbies over the years, and some of his accomplishments including snow/water skiing, scuba diving, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, back woods camping, hunting, fishing, learn to fly a plane (solo) and his favorite motorcycles. Having ridden a motorcycle for over 50 years.
He was married 3 times. The 3rd being the charm when he flew halfway around the world to meet Yunling and were married for over 20 years.
He leaves behind his wife Yunling, daughter and son Adrian and Christopher, and stepdaughters Robin and Leyan, his older sister Babe, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren. And proud of them all.
In accordance with his wishes, Bob will be interred at McClary Cemetery privately. The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel is assisting with the arrangements. To share a memory or offer a condolence please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com
