Obituary

Robert "Bob" G. Austin, 91, of Allenstown, formally of Bedford, passed away with family by his side on Monday July 14th, 2025, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester. Bob was the oldest of five children born to parents, George and Ethel (MaGrath) Austin on January 8th, 1934, in Boston MA. Bob graduated from High School in Needham MA and served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge in 1956 with the rank of Staff Sargeant. Bob was a friend to all, hardworking, a great sense of humor, and a family man. He loved to golf and cheer on his New England sports teams, was a tremendous singer and especially loved time with his family. After his discharge he worked at his father's gas station and later worked for Amoco, holding different positions in the company, receiving many awards, recognitions and was even featured in a magazine for his work ethic. Besides his parents Bob was predeceased by his brother George S. Austin. He is survived by his "Honey", Mary (Hughson) Austin of Allenstown, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage. Children, Barbara Legrow and her husband Kenneth of Barnstead, Lori Tremblay and her husband Norman of Mapleville, RI, Robert. G Austin, Jr. and his wife Claudia of Cleveland OH and Michael J. Austin and his wife Nicole of Marlton, NJ, siblings Carol Neu and her husband Peter, Jean Flaherty and husband John and Evelyn Cain, eleven grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A period of visitation will be held on Monday AUGUST 18, 2025, from 11AM to 12PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke, NH. A brief service will be held in the funeral home beginning at 12 NOON. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
