EPSOM - Richard Frederick Gifford, 84, of Epsom, NH, died Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH. He was born in Pittsfield, MA, on February 28, 1938, son of the late Frederick W. and Dorothy M. (Close) Gifford. He served as an air traffic controller in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1961, stationed in Michigan and Morocco. Before retiring in 2004, Mr. Gifford was employed as a database architect at SDI, Inc., and previously at First NH Bank. He leaves his wife, the former Nancy Owens, whom he married in 1957; a son, Stephen P. Gifford (Cathy) of Rapid City, SD; two daughters, Heidi M. Hedegard (Howard) of Epsom, NH and Jennifer G. Manise (Bruce) of Vienna, VA; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Virginia Camp of New Bern, NC and Theodora Gifford Brangwynne of Seymour, CT. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 25, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, at Epsom Bible Church, 398 Black Hall Rd, Epsom, NH, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 pm.
