Obituary

EPSOM- Richard Allen Clark, Sr., aged 80, of Epsom, NH passed away at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton on July 25, 2024 after a long period of declining health. Richard, born on October 27, 1943 and raised in Burke Hollow, VT and Milford, NH, was the son of the late Frederick and Ruth (Powers) Clark. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate on the USS Intrepid and USS Tutuila. He and his beloved late wife, Margaret Ann (Sanford) Clark, raised their children in Milford, NH, St. Johnsbury, VT, and Epsom, NH. Richard owned and operated Clark Plumbing and Heating in Epsom for many years. They retired to Nova Scotia, where they built their dream home overlooking the Bay of Fundy, before later returning to Epsom to be closer to family and friends. Richard enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, photography, and creating digital artwork. He especially loved taking road trips with his wife through Vermont and New Hampshire with frequent stops to photograph tractors, trains, and landscapes. His sense of humor and wit will be remembered fondly by all. Predeceased by his wife, Margaret Ann (Sanford) Clark; his youngest son, Robert F. Clark; his sisters, Winifred Ricciardi, Dorothy Ricciardi, Mary Ann Smith, and Alice Hendrickson; and his brother, David Clark Sr., Richard is survived by his two children: Richard Clark Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Epsom, and Katherine Piper and her husband, Corey, of Gilmanton Ironworks; four grandchildren: Nicole Smith and her husband, Elliot, Nathan Clark, Ashley Piper, and Emily Piper; and his sister, Jacqueline Hackett of West Burke, VT. In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel of Epsom.
