Obituary

ALLENSTOWN - Richard Paul Auger, 39, of Allenstown, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 1, 2026. Richard was a man defined by his work ethic, his creative soul, and his unwavering commitment to helping others. Born on October 16, 1986, Richard grew up in Bow, New Hampshire and was a graduate of Bow High School. After high school, he worked in the restaurant industry for more than 15 years, rising to become a General Manager where he oversaw multiple locations throughout the state. Notably, he went on to compete in the Five Guys Games, a national food competition, as The Northeast Nightmare. After leaving the restaurant industry, he went on to apply his skills at General Electric (GE) in Hooksett. Richard also found deep fulfillment working in rehabilitation services, leading and participating in group sessions for individuals struggling with substance abuse. For over a year, he dedicated himself to supporting those in recovery, leaving a lasting impact on the many lives he helped guide toward healing. Beyond his professional life, Richard was a man of diverse passions. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and held a deep enthusiasm for cars, participating in auto events supporting Make-a-Wish with his son and brother for many years. That same passion translated to his sketchpad, where he spent quiet moments drawing and sketching. Above all, he was a die-hard Boston sports fan, whether he was taking in a game at Fenway with his son, or cheering on the Celtics or the Patriots. He is survived by his son, Braiden Auger, who was his greatest pride. He is also survived by his mother, Katherine Moore (and the late Don Moore) and his father, Michael Auger and wife, Virginia. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Michael Auger and his wife, Kate, Zakkary Wedemeyer and wife, Hannah, Christina Auger-Greene and her husband, Nathaniel, Ian Wedemeyer and his wife, Hannah, and April Mitchell and her husband, Zachary. He also leaves behind his niece and nephews. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, PEMBROKE.
