ALLENSTOWN- Mr. Raymond M. Brasley, 79, of Allenstown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a courageous two-year fight with cancer.
Born in Pembroke, he was the son of the late Arthur and Annette (Boisvert) Brasley. He was raised and educated in Suncook and was a lifelong resident.
Prior to his retirement, Ray was employed as an Assistant Patrolman for the State of New Hampshire DOT, a position he held for over 40 years.
He was a faithful communicant of St. John the Baptist Parish. He enjoyed woodworking and fixing things around his home. He greatly enjoyed walks with his wife and his many vacations, including numerous pilgrimages to Ste. Anne de Beaupre Shrine.
He will be remembered for his generosity and love to his family and his dedication to his church.
He was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine Cotting and his brothers, Robert and Armand Brasley.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Cecile (Auger) Brasley. He was the loving father to Raymond Brasley, Jr. and his companion Pattie Boullie of Allenstown and Elaine Sobozenski and her husband Stephen of Manchester. He was the loving Pepere to Joshua Sobozenski and his wife Suzi, Matthew, David, Daniel, Ben, Noah, Joel, Jeremy and Anna Sobozenski, Sarah Hernandes, Richard Boullie and Cassandra Boullie. He was the great-grandfather to Ezra and Felicity Hernandes. Ray is also survived by his two sisters, Claire Brasley and Anita Rainville both of Pembroke as well as his in-laws, Dennis Auger and his wife Elaine and Sr. Eileen Auger, CSC as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7th from 9 to 10:30 A.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Church at 11 A.M. Services will conclude with burial at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
