EPSOM- Mrs. Priscilla S. (Schlusemeyer) Thompson, 94, of Epsom, passed away unexpectedly at Concord Hospital on September 1, 2024 after a brief illness.
Born in Dover, MA, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Helen (Bond) Schlusemeyer. She was raised and educated on the South Shore of Massachusetts and was a graduate of Weymouth High School where she was Head Cheerleader.
Priscilla and her late husband founded Thompson Real Estate of Epsom, which they operated for many years until their retirement. During that time, she was a member of the Capital Region Board of Realtors and Realtor of the Year in 1994.
Long active in community affairs, Priscilla was dedicated to her beloved town of Epsom. For over 40 years, she served as Supervisor of the Checklist and was named Epsom Citizen of the Year in 2015.
She co-founded the Epsom Food Pantry with her daughter Elizabeth and was instrumental in the formation of the Epsom Elderly Housing complex.
She coordinated many efforts in obtaining land for the benefit of the town and also co-founded the Epsom Snowmobile Club as well as the adult education program at Pembroke Academy.
She was also a Justice of the Peace and married a number of couples.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Richard H. Thompson as well as her son, Christopher Thompson and her brother, Donald Schlusemeyer.
Priscilla is survived by her children: Richard Thompson and his wife Alice, Steven Thompson and Elizabeth Robinson and her husband James all of Epsom. She was the loving grandmother to Julie Walker and her husband Paul, Crystal Tripp and her husband Andrew and Stephanie Williams and her husband Zach. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Zoe, Amy, Ellie, Henry, Cooper and Chase.
Visitation and Refreshments will be held on Saturday, September 7th from 12 to 1 P.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. A Celebration of Her Life, officiated by her son, Steven, will follow at 1 P.M. Services will conclude with burial in McClary Cemetery in Epsom.
