Epsom – Patricia Ann Wilcox, 79, of Epsom, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, April 18, 2025.
She was born on August 8, 1945, in Throop, PA, daughter of the late James and Sandra (Oshetski) McCooey.
Patricia received her undergraduate degree from Regis College and master’s degree in library science from Simmons University in Boston, MA. She worked for many years as a librarian for the NH Department of Environmental Services, Bishop Brady High School and went on to work and subsequently retired from Southern NH University in Manchester. Through her years of working at the libraries she became an encyclopedia of knowledge on many subjects and enjoyed guiding students in their studies.
Patricia enjoyed volunteering at the Epsom Town Library, gardening, thrift shopping and reading. She looked forward to visits with her granddaughters and enjoyed her time traveling to the west coast.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Howard Roy Wilcox; and her sister, Eileen McCooey.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Wilcox and her husband, Lee Fried of Seattle, WA; her granddaughters, Aleah and Emelie Fried; her sister, Kathleen Hering of Dover, NH; her niece, Jessica Barnes and her husband, Nick of Hooksett, NH; her nephew, James Hering of Concord, NH; and her brother-in-law, Richard Hering of Concord, NH.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Patricia will be laid to rest with her husband, Roy, at the New Rye Cemetery in Epsom at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to A Community Center Open To All - Epsom Public Library at https://epsomlibrary.com/.
