HOOKSETT- Nelson Cruz, 91, of Hooksett, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in San German, Puerto Rico on August 28, 1932 to the late Shannon and Monserate Garcia Cruz. Nelson moved to New York and met the love of his life, Norma. They were married on September 22, 1956 and spent 66 years by each other's side before Norma passed in 2022. While in NYC, Nelson loved being a taxi driver and even got to meet celebrities. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Nelson is survived by his two daughters: Nancy Cruz and her husband Daniel Demers of Hooksett and Emily O'Neill and her husband Thomas of Florida; his four grandchildren: Christopher Quinones, Christine Quinones, Thomas O'Neill and Catherine O'Neill; his two great-grandchildren: E.J. and Kyra; his sister: Elizabeth Estevez and her husband Nelson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Nelson is predeceased by his brother: Shannon Cruz; and his sister: Milagro Cruz. At his request, no services are scheduled.
