She will live forever in our hearts. Nancy Juranty peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Nancy, Nan, Mom, Grammy was a Yankee life-giver nurturing many things: children, her children's friends, grandchildren, pets and innumerable vegetable plants. She nurtured and preserved life in her 40-year nursing career. Nancy was strong. She built a home, family and career. A fractured hip at the age of 85 seemed like a "5" on a pain scale of 10. She recovered from symptoms of osteoporosis as many times as she could, describing PT in the gym as "kind of fun". She was kind and honest with no pretense, ever. We would get "the look" if we wrote a smarmy obituary.
Nancy raised six children with her husband, Edward in Allenstown. Her legacy lives on with them. Nancy enjoyed the outdoors even in winter, building snowmen in the yard at 70 years old. She loved playing the piano, gardening, sewing and baking. Her hobbies mostly involved her children. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, avid school sports fan and hung out in ski lodges waiting for her kids to come in from the cold. She taught swimming, biking and ice skating. She could soothe our hurts from falls, poison ivy and anything else we needed. She loved the ocean and spent every summer in York, Maine.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents Watson and Helen Ambrose and six sisters; Margaret, Frances, Lillian, Arlene, Helen, and Pauline. Her beloved husband, Edward passed away in 2017.
Nancy leaves her children; Linda, Michael, William, Thomas, Laurie, Amy and her sons and daughter-in-law; Robert, Vincent, Brian and Patricia. She was proud of her grandchildren; Karen, Julia, James, Zofia, Isabel, Tyler, Allison, Brian, Sydney, Connor, Emily, Abby, Avery and Oscar. Nancy was lucky to be a part of the lives of her great-grandchildren; Lauren, Malcolm, Whitney, Kalli, Declan, Willa, Sarah, Michael and Owen. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends, and she especially enjoyed the company and love of niece, Emily T.
Nancy grew up on a dairy farm in Epsom where she appreciated the outdoors and home-grown food and learned the importance of family. She became a Registered Nurse and spent most of her 40-year career at Concord Hospital. She worked the night shift in order to be home with her children during the day. Her last years at the hospital were on the IV Team with peers Norma and Jim. Later, as a patient herself, Nancy would meet RN's who remembered how kind and helpful she was to them as young nurses. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. Honor Nancy by telling children that they are loved, by being kind, enjoying the ocean, filling the bird feeder and doing good work.
A private service will be held at a later date. Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel in Epsom assisted the family with arrangements.
