CONCORD- Nancy Louise Jarvis, 94, of Concord, died peacefully on August 24, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She lived a long, active and well-lived life.
Nancy was born on August 25, 1927 in Hartford, CT, a daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Ebersold) Jarvis. She was a graduate of Sewick High School in West Hartford, CT and later attended Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia and Trinity College.
She was married to Robert Howes Soderberg in 1948 and settled in Simsbury, CT.
Nancy was a gifted oil painter since the age of four. She dabbled in various art projects and it remained an integral part of her life. An outdoors woman, she enjoyed camping, canoeing, nature, tennis and running. She also enjoyed rock hunting and loved to pan for gold.
Nancy will be fondly remembered as ambitious, friendly, dedicated and well-read. Her family was her rock and her presence brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She truly lived life to the fullest.
She was predeceased by her brother, Frederick Gordon Jarvis and her sister, Virginia Barr.
Nancy is survived by her three children: Eric Soderberg and his wife Lyssa of Southington, CT, Ann LaCroix of Chichester, NH and Rolf Soderberg and his wife Joanie of Big Canoe, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Gabriela Soderberg, David Soderberg, Amy Wilt, Matthew LaCroix, RJ Soderberg and Katie MacDonald; and seven great grandchildren, Cora, Gunner and Amelia Wilt, Quinn and Hawkins Soderberg, Savannah Soderberg and Ellis Soderberg.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Nancy will be interred with her parents in West Hartland, CT. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local community art school, a cause for which Nancy was so passionate.
