Melvin Asa Witham, 68, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Concord Hospital. He was born in Exeter November 11, 1955 and was the son of the late Robert and Gladys (Libby) Witham. Mel attended Northwood schools and graduated from Coe Brown Academy in 1974. Mel graduated from NH Barber College in 1975, keeping his license valid throughout his life. He worked as a car salesman for 35 years, 28 of which were at Grappone Toyota. Most recently working in sales at Camping World. Throughout Mel's life he enjoyed playing drums as a member of the Fat City Blues Band, pool, ping-pong, riding his motorcycle, tennis, playing ice hockey in the Concord men's league, skiing, scuba diving, baseball, fishing, and spending free time with his family and friends, especially his grandson JJ. Mel had many long-term friends and acquaintances who loved his charisma, sense of humor and big heart. He will be missed by all who knew him. Melvin is survived by his daughter, Amber Spaulding and her husband, Justin; his partner of 10 years and best friend, Sandra Osborne and family; his grandchild, JJ Spaulding; his sister, Roberta Witham; his nephew, Robert "Cory" Witham; his great niece, Marley Witham; and Amber's mother, Barbara Witham. He will also be missed by his beloved pets, his dog Sadie and his cat, Mildred. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 5pm – 7pm at Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 24 Main Street, Pittsfield on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1pm. Burial will be held at a later date.
