Obituary

Martha G. Emro, 91 of Northwood and most recently Carriage Hill Assisted Living in Madbury Walked into the loving embrace of Jesus on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 13, 1932 to Alf and Johanna Andersen. She loved That she was from Brooklyn and spent many years visiting New York City with her sisters and other family members annually. Her family moved to New Hampshire when she was a teen and resided in Northwood. She worked For many years at Sprague Electric in Concord and in later years in retail. With Her husband Vern in the military, they had lived in Germany, Oklahoma and Tennessee before settling back in New Hampshire. Martha was a very kind, sweet and easy person to love. She was a Flea Market/Yard Sale queen and spent many years doing that with friends. She loved spending time with her family and never missed an opportunity to do so, especially with her grandchildren, great and great, great. Her family especially her grandchildren looked forward to her Norwegian pastries at Christmas time. She showed us her "sass" and "spunk" to the very end. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Vernon, an infant daughter Carol, 7 year old Son, David and a son Jeffrey: Also her sisters, Jean Hodgdon and Gladys George and a brother Albert. Remaining family members are her children: son Bruce Hodgdon (Sherry), daughter Carol Godbout (Mark), Grandchildren Liah Miles, Nicholas Godbout, David Hodgdon, Jennifer Abbott, Six great Grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Along with her family who will miss her tremendously Martha had many dear friends who will miss her. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring with burial following in Pine Grove Cemetery, Northwood.
