EPSOM – Marilyn (Ziesemer) Key, 83, of Epsom, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, following a period of failing health.

She was born on February 15, 1943, in Brenham, TX, the daughter of the late Bennie H. and Mary Louise (Seidel) Ziesemer.

Marilyn was raised in Brenham, TX, and was a graduate of Brenham High School. She went on to attend classes at Texas Christian University before settling down to begin her family. A proud Texan at heart, she was a lifelong Texas A&M Aggies fan and took great pride in cheering on the Aggies. As an adult, she and her family lived in a number of military communities, including Germany, a chapter of her life that she remembered with particular fondness. She treasured the opportunity to experience different cultures and places and had a deep appreciation for travel. Her travels took her throughout Europe, as well as on special trips to Egypt and China, creating memories she cherished throughout her life.

Marilyn had a curious and creative spirit and was never afraid to take on a project or learn something new. She found great enjoyment in gardening, antique restoration and caring for wild animals, always taking an interest in the things around her and finding ways to nurture, preserve or restore them. She had a remarkable energy for projects, causes and, most of all, people. When she was well, Marilyn seemed to have an almost boundless capacity to stay busy, lend a hand and make a difference. She cared deeply and gave generously of herself to those around her. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family and was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and compassion, as well as for being a good and caring friend to many. Her warmth, generosity and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her former husband and friend, William S. Key III, in 2023.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Israel and her husband, Chris of Bryan, TX; her loving partner, companion and in the end, care giver of 25 years, Roger Bennett of Epsom, NH; her granddaughter, Erica Kubichek and her husband, Brian of Franklin, TX; her great-granddaughter, Breckyn Kubichek; her brother, Ben Ziesemer and his wife, Penny; her nephew, Daniel Ziesemer, all of Hinsdale, IL; The Brenham Gang and many other wonderful lifelong friends in Texas.
