EPSOM – Margery Scott Sanborn, 85, of Epsom, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at The Birches in Concord after a battle with dementia.
Born on October 14, 1940, in Stafford Springs, she was the fourth of five children born to the late Edwin and Barbara (Brown) Scott.
Marge graduated from Stafford Springs High School and later earned an associate degree in theology. She worked for more than 15 years with Hannaford Supermarkets, where she managed parts ordering for mechanics throughout the company before retiring in 2005.
For 30 years, Marge made her home in Lyman, ME, where she was a devoted member of the Maine Small Group Church of God. Her faith was central to her life, and she faithfully served as the church treasurer for many years. She found joy in gardening, knitting, puzzles, bookkeeping, swimming, traveling, and time spent at the beach, especially on Martha's Vineyard. Marge provided bookkeeping services for many friends over the years and was known for her deep love and fascination with Scotland, a place she was fortunate to visit three times.
In addition to her parents, Marge was predeceased by her sons, Scott Sanborn and Donald Sanborn; her brother, Alan Scott; and her sisters, Janet Scott, Evelyn Albert, and Dorothy Novakouski.
She is survived by her two children, Diane Morey and her husband, David, and Daniel Sanborn. She leaves behind six beloved grandchildren, Megan Mumper and her husband, Will, Matthew Morey, Rachel Sanborn and her husband, John Royal, Owen Sanborn and his wife, Kunza, Emily Sanborn and Tricia Sanborn. Marge is also survived by her dear sister, Martha Bauduccio in New London, CT, along with 10 nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of The Birches at Concord and Granite VNA Hospice for their compassionate care and support throughout the past year.
