CONCORD – Manuel "Manny" David Mariani (born Manuel Dagobert Mariani), 75, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026. Born on August 14, 1951, in Germany, he was the beloved son of Manuel D. Mariani and Evelyn Lydia Mariani (née Saray). Manny spent part of his early childhood living in Winslow, Washington, before relocating to New England and ultimately making Concord, New Hampshire, his home for many years.

Manny served in the United States Army, entering active service in March 1971 at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. During his military tenure, he served as a light vehicle driver with the 44th Transportation Company (USARYIS) and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

On March 5, 1988, in Concord, New Hampshire, Manny married the love of his life, Pauline A. Mariani (née St. Pierre). In their earlier years together, Manny was an outdoor and driving enthusiast who enjoyed the simple freedom of long drives, canoeing and river rafting, having cookouts, and playing frisbee at the park. He had a lifelong appreciation for motor sports, muscle cars, and drag racing.

In more recent years, Manny was a quiet and private man who found his ultimate peace and joy in the sanctuary of the home he and Pauline shared. Though life presented its challenges, Manny lived happily alongside Pauline, creating a gentle life centered around simple, comforting routines. He and Pauline spent their days watching TV together and gathering around the table for daily card and board games. Most recently, his favorite game was Parcheesi, which he endearingly referred to as "Home."

Manny is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline; his stepson, Jeff Sumbillo, and his wife, Sarah, of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania; and his grandchildren, Maximus and Cole Sumbillo. He is also survived by his close extended family, including his brother-in-law, Paul St. Pierre (Pauline's twin brother); his niece, Lisa Rappa-Mannion, and her husband, William, of Pembroke, New Hampshire, and their family; his nephew, Lionel Letendre; as well as his lifelong best friends since the early 1980s, Kathleen and Rick Blaney of Maine.

Manny will be remembered for his gentle nature, his appreciation for life’s quiet pleasures, and the love he held for his wife and family.
