NORTHWOOD - Lorraine F. Hall, 74, of Northwood, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 14, 2022 following a valiant battle with cancer. She was born on September 6, 1948, in Southington, CT, daughter of the late Montford and Adeline (Goodsell) Piercey.
Lorraine was educated in Southington, CT and went on to receive her Associates Degree from Central Connecticut State University. She was a dedicated and loving homemaker all her life, while developing passions for quilting, hiking, and travel. As an avid quilter she found joy as the Contest Chair of the Vermont Quilt Festival and as a member of the Cocheco Quilters Guild, Pawtuckaway Piecers Quilt Guild, and the Monday Traditional Bees.
A passionate hiker, Lorraine visited over 30 national parks and climbed all 4,000 foot summits in the White Mountains, earning the coveted AMC 4000-Footer badge. Her love of travel took her around the world to more than 30 countries.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Montford F. Piercey.
She is survived by her husband Brad R. Hall of Northwood, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage, and her two children, Shannon Hall Perschy and her husband Joseph of Medfield, MA, and Nathan Hall and his husband Todd Coulter of Brooklyn, NY. She enjoyed being the greatest Mimi she could be to her two grandsons, Jackson and Jason Perschy.
A celebration of Lorraine's life will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 1PM-3PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. A brief service will be held in the funeral home beginning at 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Appalachian Mountain Club, of Boston, MA, the Human Rights Campaign, or the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of New Hampshire.
